“Although it is common in the Philippines for newlyweds to have babies as soon as they get married, we chose to take our time, focus on our marriage and solidify our foundation before anything else,” ang inilagay niyang caption sa kanyang IG photo.

“Truth be told, I was really hesitant to get pregnant because of my mental health condition.

“I was scared that I might just end up passing on my traumas and projecting my negative emotions onto my children,” pahayag ni Maxene.

Na-realize raw niya na, “I needed to do something about my mental health condition and really focus all my energy on healing myself and unlearning my negative traits and habits.”

“Yoga and meditation help us heal from all our physical and psychological injuries, gain more awareness and live a more conscious and healthy lifestyle,” paniniwala ng aktres.

“During these last few weeks of practice, I noticed that I was able to identify a lot of different emotions that would surface every time I stepped onto my yoga mat. I could see and feel fear, anxiety, paranoia, pride, vanity, insecurity, disgust, disappointment, embarrassment and shame. So much shame.

“I realized that I live with so many of these emotions and yet I don’t pay attention to any of them. I tend to just repress them and ‘sweep them under the rug’ hoping that they would eventually go away.

“But if there’s one thing I learned from meditation, it’s that it’s so important for us to hold space for our emotions so that they won’t get stuck lingering inside our bodies.

“As a trauma survivor, I have to do a lot of inner work such as yoga, meditation, breathwork and journaling to be able to release the effects of the traumatic events that have happened in my life,” sey pa Maxene.
